When Kimmy Kimm reached out to Bree Mills earlier this year, letting her know that Kimm and some fellow Asian American and Pacific Islander performers were eager to create a special scene celebrating the AAPI community, the director and Adult Time CCO leapt at the opportunity.
Mills began working with Kimm on developing and casting the idea, which would ultimately be titled “Finally! … An All-Girl Asian Orgy Extravaganza.” They also brought Casey Calvert onto the team to co-produce and co-direct, considering this type of project to be right up Calvert’s alley.
Stars Lulu Chu, Avery Black, Jasmine Teaa, Marica Hase, Phoebe Kalib, Connie Perignon, and Alona Bloom all signed on to be part of the production and to participate in a campaign to promote the release on Adult Time in December. As a bonus, each is to receive a copy of the final work as content trade, as part of their overall involvement in the special project.
The scene is heavily inspired by Kimm’s own life experiences but is also intended to be a fun, positive celebration of the all-Asian cast.
“Growing up as an Asian American away from a big city was isolating,” recalls Kimm. “When I was starting in the industry, I would get so excited to see someone that looked similar to me, since it wasn’t something I experienced in my hometown. Most of these girls were just as excited to see me and were so, so kind. We could bond over something as simple as our favorite Korean BBQ.
“As an adult, I’ve realized how much I love a sense of community,” she adds. “I’ve found that community with other Asian American performers through our commonalities. That’s what this scene is all about for me.”
Despite her own personal enthusiasm for the idea, Kimm remembers being surprised when Mills quickly accepted her invitation to help bring that sense of camaraderie to life with the new scene.
“At first, I felt delusional pitching an idea, but Adult Time has always given me confidence in their brand and professionalism,” she says. “So when Bree and Casey took my little idea and put it all into action, it was even better than I could have imagined. Bree connected me with some performers I had been wanting to work with so badly, so to see everyone in the same room and sharing passion and love was incredible.”
The shooting process included several memorable moments for Kimm, chief among them the experience of going behind the camera in addition to performing.
“It was incredible being on the other side of the monitor for a little bit!” she says. “I loved watching everyone really putting their entire body and mind into all the little side quests of the day. I’ll never forget the performers thanking me at the end for bringing us all together even just for a day. It makes me want to do it again — and even bigger next time.”
Now that she has seen how it all came together, Kimm says she is most proud of the preproduction idea sessions, how the entire crew showed up and put in so much work, and the excitement the cast members brought to the set.
“I’m a little proud of myself as well for shooting my shot in the first place!” Kimm beams.
The production marked Calvert’s first time working with Kimm, and she says she was impressed by everything Kimm brought to the table in their creative collaboration.
“She was prepared on every front, helped make decisions on set, and did an incredible performance,” Calvert notes. “I know firsthand how tricky it can be performing and directing at the same time, so my main goal was to set Kimmy up for success. I helped manage the crew so that Kimmy, with Bree’s assistance, could focus on creative. I was always available for a consult, but both Bree and I really wanted to empower her to make her own choices — and she did an incredible job.”
Mills is equally enthusiastic as she reflects on what inspired her to support the project and how it turned out.
“Kimmy has been a regular actress on Adult Time for a while now, and she’s always a pleasure to work with,” Mills says. “She’s got the professionalism and passion that really fits with the kind of content we create. When she pitched me this idea, I reflected for a while on how we could best help bring it to life.
“We ended up with a project that felt true to her and exciting to our audience,” she continues. “An idea gets the green light when we know it can connect with viewers and be promoted effectively. This one checked all the boxes.”
Mills also discussed the novel approach of offering the performers content trade as part of their involvement.
“This year, I’ve been trying out a few ‘collab productions’ as a way for Adult Time to create higher-budget projects where the talent involved feel a sense of ownership and accountability for their success,” Mills explains. “These productions are not only complex and costly, but we also count on them to have a strong promotional impact. So instead of just paying talent their standard rate for the day, I brought everyone on board in a broader agreement as performers, promoters, and license holders. It adds some extra logistics for sure, but my goal is for this to be a win for everyone so we can hopefully do more of these in the future.”
The new orgy scene realizing Kimm’s original vision also matched Mills’ mission to boost diversity in her productions and the Adult Time brand.
“Diversity and inclusivity were key from the start, as this project was meant to celebrate the importance of community,” Mills affirms. “My priority was to stay focused on Kimmy and her co-stars, making sure we stuck to their genuine intentions to avoid any kind of empty virtue signaling. And when it comes to celebrating community, nothing beats an epic orgy! Right?”
