Former Miss USA to Star in Vivid's 'Faithless'

LOS ANGELES — Mainstream actress Kelli McCarty, a former Miss USA who also starred in the NBC daytime drama "Passions," has shot a production for Vivid Entertainment. "Faithless," McCarty's first X-rated release, will be on sale Feb. 4.

"I enjoy acting, and I really like sex," McCarty said. "This was the perfect opportunity to combine two of my passions. I approached Vivid with the idea of shooting a film with a sexy but interesting storyline, and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of control I was given throughout the production process. I am very pleased with the final edit of 'Faithless,' and I just may do another adult film."

McCarty won the title of Miss Kansas in 1990 and was crowned Miss USA in 1991, after which she competed for the Miss Universe title, placing fourth. She has appeared on several television programs, including "Melrose Place," "Beverly Hills 90210," "Silk Stalkings," "Dream On," "Pacific Blue" and "Diagnosis Murder." She played villainess Beth Wallace on the NBC daytime drama "Passions" staring in 1999, playing the character through 2006.

Vivid co-chair Steven Hirsch is pleased with "Faithless."

"This marks the first time that a Miss USA, let alone an established TV actress, has made the reverse crossover into adult," Hirsch said. "By any standard, Kelli's performance in 'Faithless' is incredibly erotic. She smolders sex from every pore of her body. We've made some footage from the movie available at KelliUSA.com for the curious to judge for themselves.

"We've been credited with spearheading the transition of adult entertainment into the mainstream, but I was still surprised when Kelli approached us," Hirsch said. "As it turns out, she's a natural porn star."

The plot of "Faithless" follows "Callie" (McCarty) at a tipping point in her marriage, during which she feels her husband has wandering eyes and she has lost control of the relationship. She seduces her stepdaughter's boyfriend and the sexual fireworks follow.

The production was directed by longtime Vivid director Paul Thomas.

"I enjoyed the filming process very much and found PT's production team to be extremely professional and highly skilled," McCarty said.

Adult performers Daisy Marie, Jennifer Dark, Kelly Leigh, Voodoo, James Deen, Steven St. Croix and Herschel Savage are also featured in "Faithless."
