NakedSword Mans Team for AIDS 'LifeCycle' Ride

SAN FRANCISCO — AEBN’s leading gay membership site NakedSword, has announced that it has assembled a team to ride in this year's annual AIDS LifeCycle bike ride June 6.

NakedSword's five-person team is made up of employees and friends of the company who will join hundreds of activists for the annual seven-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS organizations.

To raise money for its team, NakedSword will combine charity with partying by hosting two local gay fundraisers.

The first event will be a barbecue and beer bust at The San Francisco Eagle at 398 12th Street on May 22 from 3-6 p.m. A bottomless cup of beer for $10, a raffle of NakedSword memberships and free new-release gay porn DVDs are on tap for the soiree.

The second fundraising event dubbed “The Sit and Spin Fundraver,” will take place at the Paradise Lounge at 1501 Folsom Street on May 27, from 10 p.m. until closing. The event promises five different local DJs for a night of drinking and dancing. The suggested donation will be $10.

NakedSword CEO Tim Valenti said, "Porn is our company's first love, but our next two favorite things are great parties and community activism. Participating in this year's AIDS LifeCyle gives us the perfect opportunity to have fun and do some good at the same time. We're rooting for everyone participating in this year's life-changing ride, with the loudest cheers reserved for Team NakedSword."

The company said it hopes that other members of the industry will support this year's riders with sponsorships and participants. The event is co-produced by the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

AEBN will also lend its support with a $1,000 donation to the ride.
