Porn Industry Shows Up for XRCO Awards

LOS ANGELES — The Century Club overflowed with porn personalities at last night’s 22nd Annual XRCO Awards. Comprised of writers from various adult publications and Internet sites, the X-Rated Critics Organization hosts the event to honor unique achievements in adult films.

Everyone else uses it as an opportunity for a big, loud party.

The show was co-hosted by Stormy Daniels and Lauren Phoenix, while AVN’s Heidi Joy Pike and newcomer Brea Bennet served as “Heart-On Girls,” presenting the winners with their wooden, heart-shaped trophies.

Bennet is the winner of Playboy TV’s “American Sex Star” series hosted by Jenna Jameson, and the newest ClubJenna contract girl.

“I had to give Ron Jeremy a blow job,” Bennet said, explaining how she won the Playboy competition. “It was a fake dick; it’s Playboy TV, so… Then we had to do a lesbian scene, solo masturbation and an actual interview with Jenna.”

Digital Playground’s Jesse Jane and Teagan announced the night’s first awards, with Digital’s Joone going on later in the show to win Best Director. The studio’s hot streak continued, scoring yet another two awards for “Pirates” which took Best Epic and Best Release.

Pure Play Media also was well represented, with Cousin Stevie and Sunny Lane taking the announcer’s stand for part of the show.

Lane at the event arrived with Flower Tucci and Gianna Lynn, posing for pics with both, as well as Lighthouse contract girl Tylene Buck. Pure Play publicist April Storm looked on happily, and was also looking forward to the fourth season of Showtime’s “Family Business,” which debuts April 21, featuring Seymore Butts and the rest of the Pure Play crew.

On the red carpet, Stevie glowed about Lane’s performance in one of his latest Pussy Party videos, “I love Sunny’s work. She’s exuberant, she’s happy and she loves what she’s doing.”

“It was my first time being with eight women,” Lane added. “It was truly amazing.”

On the red carpet, Max Hardcore was exuberant about Grand Prix racing. Photos from the Long Beach Grand Prix are posted on his website.

“I care about the drivers from the Champ Car World Series,” Hardcore said. “Some of the fastest guys on the planet, and they’re putting $15 million-$30 million behind efforts to put the cars in the show every weekend.”

SexZ Pictures director Roy Karch showed up with starlet Irena Skye. “This is an event that I always attended,” he said. “I’m in their Hall of Fame. We’re all one big, happy family.”

In the evening’s most memorable acceptance speech, double-winner Hillary Scott accepted her award for New Starlet, thanking her own asshole because “without it, I wouldn’t be here today.” She also won for Orgasmic Oralist.

The final announcer of the night, perennial porn star Ron Jeremy, has been busy making the mainstream connection.

“The company Lion’s Gate has a company called Think Films; they just picked up ‘The Aristocrats,’ which I’m in the extra scenes with a poem,” Jeremy said. “They picked up ‘Andre the Butcher’ and put it in theatres. They picked up a documentary called ‘Fuck’ which I’m in. I’m in a film that came out last month called ‘The Wicked.’ It’s a monster movie. ‘Domino,’ I’m in the credits but I got cut from it, and I got a big film coming up about cavemen called ‘Homo Erectus’ with David Carradine, Gary Busey and Tom Arnold. And I also have a book coming out this summer. I’m on ‘The Surreal Life.’

“Add to that, I was on ‘Mind of Mencia,’ reruns of Dave Chappelle, ‘Las Vegas,’ and Conan O’Brien. Four TV shows and 11 movies – and both AVN and XRCO didn’t give me the mainstream crossover award,” said Jeremy, who was beat out by Stormy Daniels. “What do I gotta do?”

Also on the scene: Bethany Sweet, Jewell Marceau, Candy Manson, Brandi Mae, Tee Reel with Tyra Banxxx, Layla Star, Stephanie Morgan, Kimberly Kane, Mia Smiles and Chris Cannon, Rick Masters, Lori Lust, Hershel Savage, Sierra Sinn, Keisha, Thomas Zupko, Erik Everhard, Brian Surewood and Lynn LeMay were among the crowd of hardcore luminaries.
