Manwin Files $2.8M Suit Over YouPorn, PornHub URL Variants

LOS ANGELES — Manwin yesterday made cybersquatting accusations against operators of 28 domains that are similar to its YouPorn.com and Pornhub.com properties.

The complaint, waged by the adult entertainment conglomerate at U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, seeks $100,000 per domain property for violating the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, injunctions from operating the infringing sites, transfers of the sites to Manwin and attorneys fees.

Manwin, however, said it is unaware of the true names or capacities of the 10 John Doe defendants.

The URLs specifically named in the suit include Deutsches-YouPorn.com, YouPorns.org, DownloadYouPorn.net, SexYouPorn.net, xHamster-YouPorn.com, YouPom-Gratuit.com, YouPornHubs.com, YouPornix.com, You-Porno.org , YouPornoGratuit.com, YouPornoredtube.com, YouPornos.net, YouPornotube.org, YouPornoTubeSex.com, YouPomsex.net, YouPorn-Sexe.com, YouPorn-vip.com, Pornhub-fr.com, ThePornHubX.com, LivePornHub.com, Porn-hubs.com, TimTube-PornHub com, PornHubMovies.com, PornNub-vip.com, YouPornHubs.com, PornHub-Porno.corn, PornHubSexVideos.com and YouPorn-PornHub.info.

Manwin said all of the domain names direct users to adult-oriented content and services that directly compete with Manwin properties.

"Some of the unauthorized YouPorn and Pornhub  variants used by defendants are intended to confuse consumers into believing that their websites are foreign variants of the YouPorn or PomHub websites," the suit said. "Others are intended to take advantage of common misspellings or typographical errors, a practice sometimes known as 'typosquafting.'"
