NEW YORK — Rookie firefighter, Jonathan Jesensky (aka Jonathan West), who joined New York’s Bravest just last week, was a former porn star who’s appeared in at least 10 gay and bisexual films.
The New York Daily News reported that the 33 year-old appeared in films including “Raw,” “Ripe,” “Semper Bi,” and a tribute compilation, “The Best of Jonathan West” from All Worlds Video.
Jesensky, who also served a tour in Iraq as a Marine, joined the NYFD in 2012 as a paramedic and graduated in the top 10 of his firefighter class. He now works with Engine Company 71 in the Bronx.
The rookie was reportedly up front about his porn appearance from the very beginning. New York City does not discriminate when it comes to hiring people who have appeared in adult productions.
“The legal department is aware of his work history,” FDNY spokesman Jim Long said.
Although he has appeared in gay films, Jesesnky's performances were apparently "gay for pay." He said the porn work was just a job.
And Jesensky is not the only adult talent in the department.
Michael Biserta, of Ladder 121 in Red Hook, Brooklyn, posed naked and flanked by women in a 2004 "Guys Gone Wild" video shot before he joined the department that set off a few alarms at the NYFD.
But like Jesensky, Biserta was also candid about his porn appearance before his appointment and was not disciplined.
