WASSERBILLIG, Luxembourg — pjur is sharing the results of a survey it commissioned to study the use of personal lubricant for anal sex among Germans.
According to the company, 2099 people over the age of 18 took part in the survey, of which 374 are users of personal lubricant. The data in question stems from on an online poll carried out by YouGov Deutschland GmbH, which individuals took part in from Nov. 6-8.
The survey showed that 29 percent of all Germans who use personal lubricants use them for anal intercourse. The poll also showed that couples in full-time employment use personal lubricant for anal sex more frequently than those who are unemployed — 38 percent for the former demographic and 21 percent for the latter.
A comparison of different age groups shows that 35 to 44 year olds have the most anal sex with personal lubricant, the figure standing at 40 percent, while 20 percent of 18-to-24 year olds practice this technique, compared with 34 percent for 25-to-34 year olds. The figure falls again from a certain age onwards: 17 percent of people over the age of 55 use personal lubricants for anal sex.
Thirty-five percent of all personal lubricant users said they use it with sex toys or “to have more fun during sex.” Of those responses, 54 percent were men and 42 percent were women.
The study also showed that 48 percent of participants would recommend a personal lubricant to friends, 23 percent would recommend to acquaintances and 16 percent would recommend to relatives.
