Zac Wild: From Small Town Fishing to Tenacious Triumph

Zac Wild remembers when life was simpler, back before cellphones and the internet became ubiquitous. Growing up in the 1990s, in a small New Hampshire town where his family worked in commercial fishing, radio was his favorite form of entertainment.

“There really was a magical charm to the ’90s that kids these days just don’t understand,” he says. “Youth used to be about riding around the neighborhood with friends on our bicycles, drinking 30-cent cans of Surge and scrounging around for change to buy candy. It used to be about getting lost until the streetlights came on. Life felt limitless and the stars sure did shine a lot brighter then.”

Then, as Wild got older, his summers were spent cutting and mending fishing nets in his backyard, which was a family effort. He also excelled in sports during high school, particularly football. He graduated with a group of friends he thought he would take over the world with, all of them in a rock band. But life had different plans — or as Wild puts it, he finally decided to go after what he truly desired.

“What led me to pursue a career in the adult industry?” he says. “Everything about it! It’s all right there, and I knew I could do it. I just needed an opportunity.”

Wild was a big fan of talent like Billy Glide, Charmane Star, Briana Banks, Jenaveve Jolie, Keiran Lee and Johnny Sins, and remembers when Brazzers first dropped. Shortly after turning 18 in 2008, he decided this was the career path for him.

“Every talent scout and agency told me I’d never make it,” Wild recalls. “I was told that I’m not big enough, not tall enough, not strong enough, I don’t have enough hair, my dick isn’t big enough — I literally heard it all.”

For a time, it seemed like he would never get his foot in the door and that his dream would fade, but in late 2017, Pily Visual — who then served as talent coordinator for Reality Kings and was the wife of producer Billy Visual — discovered Wild and helped him get the ball rolling.

“I’m forever grateful,” Wild avows. “I love them both.”

Since then, his career has included a string of highlights including, most recently, starting his own website, GoonMuse.com — and of course, reaching the apex of stardom as 2024 XBIZ Male Performer of the Year.

When asked about his favorite milestones, however, Wild talks about getting to perform with some of the very stars he grew up revering.

“Working with some of the great gentlemen such as Jules Jordan, Manuel Ferrera, Keiran Lee, Johnny Sins, Prince Yahshua, John Strong, Ramon Nomar and so many more!” he gushes. “Also with absolute legendary directors such as Chris Streams, Pat Myne, Mason and the aforementioned Jordan, who have captured my most prolific and hardcore scenes.”

He cites Evil Angel and Brazzers as studios he “adores” shooting for, and Angela White and Gia Derza as being among his favorite co-stars. He was also especially thrilled to work with Rebecca Linares for her first anal scene, as she made a comeback after 12 years.

“Blows my mind to work with her,” Wild says. “She’s a legend!”

After cutting his acting chops for studios like MissaX, Wild eventually switched his focus to going full-steam ahead on gonzo work, to master his sexual performance.

“I do the scenes I love and that’s why the companies that hire me get the absolute best out of me,” he notes.

He noted that an upcoming scene with Lily Lou for a Digital Playground feature, in which the pair had sex in a hammock, was shot nearly at midnight in 32-degree weather.

“It was profoundly challenging, but I’m always up for it!” he declares.

Of course, what with it not being the 1990s anymore, Wild has also had to develop offscreen skills like marketing himself using social media, which he calls “very much a work in progress” as he puts all his energy into performing.

“Life was so nice before social media,” he laughs. “I certainly know it’s important, but I just don’t have whatever it takes to be posting constantly.”

Nonetheless, he is on Instagram @TheZacWild and on X.com @ZacWildxxx, striving to stay on top of his marketing pages and interact with the fans who support him.

Since performing is his forte, Wild takes pains to ensure that his co-stars have a positive experience on set, by going over do’s, don’ts and boundaries before every scene.

“It could be someone I’ve worked with a dozen times, but it’s a must every time — and also a fantastic icebreaker,” he says. “Sometimes we’ll blueprint positions before the scene to get the creative juices going, which is always fun and productive, but boundaries are the most important details a male talent needs to know.

“With such an important conversation done, I then have all the information I need to work with,” he says. “From there I’m pouring my energy out to make one hell of a steaming hot, visceral scene that she feels enthusiastic about. I want the women I work with to feel comfortable whilst encouraging them at the same time to bring out their best performance.”

These days, Wild is channeling a lot of his energy into his new site, GoonMuse.com, which is solely dedicated to his insatiable lust for oil scenes.

“Every scene is an oil scene and I fuck some of the nastiest and baddest babes in this industry,” Wild says. “In most of my scenes, I come more than once. Hell, Amari Anne made me come five times in our first GoonMuse scene! How epic is that?

“I love to perform the way I do and I feel like it resonates with a lot of the female talent I work with,” he continues. “GoonMuse is 100% one-on-one gonzo, all oil with a TV projecting the very scene I’m capturing in the background. I wanted to do something real and original and I feel like I created it. My goal with GoonMuse is grow and grow by staying consistent. We’ll see where 2024 takes us. Goon on, gooners!”

With multiple irons in the fire, Wild admits that he struggles to balance work and life, especially since he has no family in LA and all of his friends are in the industry.

“To be completely honest, I don’t have much of a life at all outside of the industry,” he confesses. “I’ve been dedicating my life to it completely because I have no clue how long it will last — and I know for sure what life is like not being in this industry!

“I don’t have any desire or time to be bullshitting at clubs or bars drinking or even taking vacations,” he adds. “I have a great life any man would want and goals I can’t slow down for. I’ve faced many challenges and beat every one of them into the ground by staying constantly on my path.”

He says he does appreciate his industry friends, though, pointing to Chris Streams as a dear friend whom he looks up to.

“He always invites me to his house for holiday feasts!” Wild says. “He’s also taken me to some incredible concerts. He’s a good man to me and I’m grateful for him.”

Wild’s dedication translates into a quiet life, a strong work ethic and a simple daily routine. He wakes up at his leisure, hits the gym, then goes home for a couple of hours before shooting a scene. After dinner, he is most likely to be found catching up on editing for his overflowing content library.

That dedication has clearly paid off, in the form of Wild’s Male Performer of the Year win, which he views as one of the greatest accomplishments of his career.

“I was completely in awe!” he recalls. “There are so many great gentlemen in this industry that work their asses off, so just to be nominated is an accomplishment in itself. And my God, to share a hug with presenter Alexis Fawx on that stage was a moment I’ll never forget. It was a profound moment in my life and it called for profound words, so I chose to recite Rudyard Kipling’s ‘If,’ which is a poem that has been so very close to me my whole life.”

Wild’s recital of “If,” which is about what it means to be a man, made his one of the more memorable acceptance speeches of that night.

“It was me poetically sending a message that ‘I’m here,’” he says. “‘If’ is a poem that speaks truths on levels that reach all and I thought it was completely necessary for the moment. Porn stars and sex workers alike are more than what people see on the surface. We’re people with heart, soul, love and passion for life. I’m living a dream and I’m so thankful for every day I get to do this for a living.”

Wild reserves particular thanks for his team at OC Modeling, Sandra, Anthony and Eric, who he says have been wonderful to him since he signed with them in 2019, and really helped him along the path to his win.

“Sandra has helped and guided me through so much, I wouldn’t be here without her support,” he affirms. “I also want to thank Pat Myne, Jules Jordan, Mason from Hard X, Keiran Lee and his Brazzers crew, Elegant Angel and Evil Angel for being tremendously positive influences on my performances and keeping me busy. I’m blessed to work with and know these great people!”

Which brings us to 2024. As he heads full-steam into his sixth year as a performer, does Wild have any big goals for the coming year, beyond building up GoonMuse and continuing to perform at his highest level?

“I just want to be happy doing what I love,” he offers. “I have goals I’m manifesting but for now I’m keeping them safe. We’ll see what 2024 brings. As for the long term, someday I’d love to have a wife and kids but... for now, I’m giving my all to a dream that has become a reality.”
