Vivid Girls Releasing ‘How to Have a XXX Sex Life’

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Vivid contract performers Savanna Samson, Sunrise Adams, Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, Mercedez, Tawny Roberts and Dasha provide the narrative for a new book, “How to Have a XXX Sex Life: The Ultimate Vivid Guide,” to be released Tuesday.

Vivid calls the book an “alternating frankness with a playful tone,” that will use a mix of real-life anecdotes and erotic fantasy in a tutorial fashion.

The hardcover, 352-page book will be published by the ReganBooks division of New York-based HarperCollins and is co-authored by Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman.

Samson says her sexual imagination, revealed in the book, is part of her on-camera life.

"A lot of my fantasies have a lot to do with stuff I have done on camera first that I would like to re-enact and experience in my real life,” Samson said. “My mind continues to open, and I am so much more free than I ever was."

Says Adams: "I like knowing that I'm fulfilling people's fantasies and desires, maybe even helping their own romantic relationships."

Van Nuys, Calif.-based Vivid has extended past film and online adult entertainment within recent years to book publishing, virility supplements, condoms, snowboards, calendars and comic books.

Vivid, one of the few adult video companies with a mandatory condom policy, sells its titles to the rental market and direct to consumers through its online mail-order site. The company also distributes the videos to cable and satellite channels and offers its Internet subscribers pay-per-view access.

Steve Hirsch and David James, who together started the company in 1984, control Vivid with Bill Asher. It had an estimated $150 million in revenue last year.
