The most recent fire on Tuesday morning destroyed Express Videos, an adult store in Fallston, Md.
"Two of the three fires have been determined to be intentionally started," Deputy State Fire Marshal Joseph Zurolo told XBIZ. "There are no suspects in either one of those two. In the second, there were surveillance tapes in the area, and they are being reviewed."
“The [Express Videos] building is a total loss,” George Dail, the owner of the building, told XBIZ. “It can't be repaired. I'm getting quotes on clearing the site so we can build something else there."
Express Videos had been in the building since the mid-1980s, Dail said. "They had five-year leases, and just renewed a couple of years ago. It is their intention to re-open there. It was a lucrative site for them."
A July 1 arson fire damaged the exterior of Adult Novelty Corp., outside Aberdeen, Md., north of Baltimore. Employees told the Baltimore Examiner that the store went to 24-hour operation after that.
Another fire that destroyed an area adult bookstore in January has been ruled accidental.
"It was traced to a ceiling fan inside the building," Zurolo said.
