Dana Vespoli Joins Evil Angel, Makes 'Forsaken' Debut

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Evil Angel has struck a distribution deal with veteran porn star and director Dana Vespoli. The studio will release her feature film debut on Feb. 20.

"I have had some luck with female directors in the past, and possibly it has dawned on me that women have a more interesting take on sex," Evil Angel founder John Stagliano said.

"I like what is going on in the room as she [Vespoli] directs — real sex is happening.”

Vespoli, a San Francisco native, broke into adult as a performer in 2003. She picked up the camera three years later, shooting fetish, POV and vignette features for numerous studios.

"My niche has mostly been vignette movies with darker storylines, as well as POV-type scenarios where I interact from behind the camera," Vespoli said. "I have a strong fetish bent to a lot of my work, and favor strong sex and anal.

"I think my aesthetic fits well with the other [Evil Angel] directors, but, as a woman and one who shoots her own camera, I bring something unique to the table. I suppose by virtue of being a female I bring a female perspective, although I don’t know what that means."

Vespoli's first release for Evil Angel will be the erotic feature "Forsaken," starring Ash Hollywood and Manuel Ferrara.

"John Stagliano had seen one of my horror vignette movies, called ‘Love Hurts,’ and suggested I try shooting a feature," Vespoli said. "‘Forsaken’ is the story of a girl who wakes up in the woods with blood on her dress, but no wounds. She has no memory of who she is and sets off to solve the mystery. She has flashbacks of her life and meets some creepy characters along the way."

'Forsaken' costars Vespoli, Samantha Ryan, Phoenix Marie, Michael Vegas and James Deen.
