CaballeroClassics Site Goes Live

STUDIO CITY, Calif. — The joint website venture between classic adult film studio Caballero and the Smashbucks affiliate program is now live. CaballeroClassics.com features the Internet debut of a boatload of Caballero content previously available only on VHS.

Much of the Caballero footage was upgraded to digital resolution and cleaned up frame-by-frame. Caballero was a dominant adult studio in the adult industry’s Golden Age, and produced many movies starring Ginger Lynn, John Holmes, Amber Lynn, Nina Hartley and Ron Jeremy.

The site features only Caballero titles and allows members to customize their own movies by pulling scenes from different titles for download with no DRM restrictions. CaballeroClassics.com launched with 204 movies and 1,147 scenes to choose from. Smashbucks’ proprietary software The Chopper makes this level of customization possible.

Smashbucks webmasters have access to a host of promotional tools, including fresh clips and movie gallery templates to choose from.

“We spent more than two years working on this deal with Caballero because it was a very important deal for us,” Smashbucks co-founder Mike Hawk told XBIZ. “Building the trust between a massive studio such as Caballero and the online world was a harder experience than I thought.”

The partnership between the two companies was announced in January.

Caballero President Tom Yofe said the deal to bring his content online was a long time in the making.

“We are a video company, and the Internet is a new industry for us,” Yofe said. “Instead of doing it ourselves to catch up with everybody, we partnered with the right people. So they bring their knowledge to the table, [and with] our content and knowledge, we can build a winner. Many people are looking for Caballero [online]. This company is well known in the industry. With Smashbucks’ experience we can reach a lot of new fans on the Internet.”
