Diabolic’s Dom B told XBIZ that the company is committed to releasing movies on the Blu-ray format and would continue to do so for “special projects until the consumer demand grows enough to release more.”
Known for its hardcore gonzo content, Diabolic has been shooting in high-definition for a few years, and now that Blu-ray is the next-gen DVD format winner, company president Gregg Alan felt the time was right to dip its toes in the Blu-ray well.
“Diabolic is known for its quality product and while some people might ask ‘Who would want to watch gonzo in HD?’ The answer will be obvious when they see ‘Top Shelf’ on Blu-ray,” Dom B said. “We believe that customers seek quality regardless if the movie has a storyline or not.”
All Blu-ray Diabolic releases will street the same day as the standard definition version.
