Judge Lets TMZ Repost Troyer Clips
Ranae Shrider signed a declaration in a Los Angeles federal court stating that the tape was made with her video camera and that she is a co-owner of the tape.
After TMZ originally posted the video, Troyer filed suit. U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez ordered that the video be removed. The post was back up as of Tuesday evening.
But besides the reinstatement of the online video, the ruling will also keep any distributors, including SugarDVD, from making money off the tape. Troyer's suit came against TMZ, celebrity sex tape broker Kevin Blatt and adult video-on-demand provider SugarDVD, seeking $20 million in damages over the leak of the sex tape.
For his part, Blatt denied allegations that he was the broker for the sex tape.
“I’m not the broker,” Blatt said in an online interview. “I never was — I merely shopped it. Now I am being sued for looking at it. When the real story comes out, Verne and his people will feel very foolish.”
Shrider also spoke out recently about her former flame. On a Tampa, Fla., radio show, Shrider assured the hosts that contrary to the online rumor mill, Troyer is proportional for a man of his size.
"The only thing I'm going to say," she said while speaking on a morning radio talk show in Tampa, Fla., "This is all I'm going to say. As previously reported on interviews made by him, it is definitely not a tripod."
