Sinful XXX Brings Dreamy Erotica to Life With Business Finesse

Sinful XXX Brings Dreamy Erotica to Life With Business Finesse

As the creative brains behind Sinful XXX, director and producer Roma Amor is primarily responsible for bringing the brand’s signature style of erotica to life. It is a role for which he is well prepared, having worked as a freelance art photographer and video maker since 1996. Some 25 year ago, he joined forces with a team of industry players to sell his works to magazine publishers all over the world.

Fast forward to July 2015, when Amor sent several adult video productions to that very same group of collaborators, asking if they wanted to work with him on a new project, handling the commercialization. They were so impressed by the material that they decided to greenlight what would ultimately become Sinful XXX — though they also cautioned Amor that selling a “female-friendly” product would be challenging.

The Sinful XXX style is chiaroscuro, based on the Renaissance art form with a strong use of light and dark.

The first DVD released by the upstart was “Make Me Sweat.” The title proved successful, winning at the Dusk Porna Awards in Amsterdam in 2016. Amor kept on producing with the same basic ingredients, but branching out a little more with each new production. When the company went from shooting individual scenes to making feature movies, new markets opened up.

This led to the launch of SinfulXXX.com, which reps describe as an “overnight success” with membership still growing each month. While SinfulXXX.com started out as a stand-alone website, after two years, it became part of the AdultPrime.com network, which expanded the content offerings for members and led to increased retention.

In early 2023, Sinful XXX partnered with married performers Cassie and Dorian del Isla for the company’s latest milestone: a series of productions in Los Angeles, comprised of 15 scenes at various scenic locales. Now, the folks behind Sinful XXX open up about their vision and further goals in this company profile.

XBIZ: Tell us about your visual style. What makes Sinful XXX content unique?

SINFUL: The Sinful XXX style is chiaroscuro, based on the Renaissance art form with a strong use of light and dark. This makes the content visually unique and always easy to recognize. Roma Amor uses his precise lighting setup to “paint” on the bodies of the performers, which requires a lot from the models and the team behind the camera. The atmosphere of the content is always kind of candlelit, romantic, mysterious and, of course, erotic.

XBIZ: How do you approach casting?

SINFUL: We are very picky about finding the best possible performers for our content, because besides wanting to cast attractive stars, we need them to act too. Acting and sex go hand in hand here. Most of the productions are done in Prague, a city that offers so many beautiful models whom we can work with.

We do not limit ourselves to booking Czech models only, however. We work with models from all over Europe. How do we find the best models? Besides our existing network, we are often approached by models asking to be in one of our productions, which is the best compliment we can get. With some help from our model agencies, we always find the perfect cast.

XBIZ: Describe your marketing strategy for maintaining a loyal subscriber base.

SINFUL: Working from our basic style, we always come up with something that keeps our followers interested. We also try to challenge ourselves, adding a little extra with every movie that we make. Social media allows us to maintain a very close relationship with fans and potential members, and to keep them informed about what we are doing.

They like the artsy style of our content and from the feedback that we receive, we have learned that a lot of members watch our movies together with their partners, which is something that we always wanted: to create content that can be enjoyed together and alone.

We put a lot of effort in making sure that our weekly updates are on time, of maximum quality and always offer a different twist. Our members appreciate that a lot.

XBIZ: What kinds of scenes are most popular on your site?

SINFUL: The most viewed scenes on SinfulXXX.com are, without a doubt, threesomes and foursomes, so we try to squeeze in at least one or two in every feature movie. Another thing that works well for Sinful XXX scenes is building up tension through mild dominance scenarios, which makes storylines fun.

When it comes to decision-making for future productions, we look at licensing potential as well as what works well on the website. We keep an eye on niches and trends, as well as fantasies our members and viewers enjoy. Last but certainly not least, we make sure that we work with performers that our fan base likes too. Sometimes the models that we work with help us come up with ideas for our movies. For example, Anna de Ville’s impressive collection of vintage clothing was the main inspiration for “Anna’s Vintage Vixens,” which was nominated for Glamcore Movie of the Year at the XBIZ Europa Awards.

We sometimes work around a theme as well. For instance, we launched “The Book of Spells” around Halloween last year, and this year we made a holiday special, “Christmas Came Early.”

XBIZ: Tell us about the team behind Sinful XXX and how you all work together to accomplish shared goals.

SINFUL: Our production team consists of four people: Roma Amor, who is the director and creator; his right hand, George Matt, who is a technical genius and responsible for all technical aspects of our shoots; makeup artist Elis Baux; and an assistant, Peter Neek. A perfect team, we can say, since they have been working together for over 20 years already!

Because of Roma’s perfectionism, shooting days are long and challenging for the performers, as well as for the production team, but they always lead to the best possible result: a hardcore piece of art infused with softcore erotica.

And then, there is the team from Photorama and IMC in the Netherlands, handling the marketing side of Sinful XXX, with Maria creating storyline ideas, Dennis handling the licensing deals and VOD presence throughout the world, Marcel perfecting the artwork — and of course, there is the whole team at IMC to run the website and provide support where it is needed.

XBIZ: Talk about your game plan for 2024 to continue growing Sinful XXX.

SINFUL: The current idea is to produce more and more movies in the U.S., in LA, and work with the best performers of the industry there, as well as build our brand presence in North America. This will open so many opportunities for Sinful XXX. Of course, we will keep producing in Europe too; the first productions of the new year are scheduled already, and will happen right when we get back home from our LA adventure. We always keep working.
