WebmasterChecks Announces Check Stock Upgrade

PHOENIX — Check issuing and payment distribution company, WebmasterChecks today announced its upgrade of check stock.

According to the company, Phoenix-based WebmasterChecks will upgrade to a check style that’s virtually impossible to replicate or alter without fraud being evident.

Fraud consultant Frank W. Abagnale, whose life story provided the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s film “Catch Me if You Can,” had designed the check with 12 security features that include a dual-tone watermark, heat-sensitive ink and chemically reactive paper.

"After we had a client come to us after losing $40,000 to check fraud, we knew that in addition to all the security precautions we were taking on the backend, we had to do whatever it took to make our physical checks as bulletproof as possible," said Nathan Hadlock, chief security officer of Webmaster Checks.

WebmasterChecks’ multi-layer security and deterrent system now also includes redundant protection against check amounts getting altered and coordination with the bank on check details that are permitted to be cashed.

WebmasterChecks issues U.S./EU checks, ACH direct deposits, wires, ePassporte and other payment types. It integrates MPA3 and NATS and is a solution used by financial institutions, merchant account holders, third party, users of third party publisher or affiliate software, affiliate networks, advertising networks and other web programs.
