The Cal-Vista Classics in the current set are "Bacchanale," "Dear Fanny," "Call Girl," "Double Your Pleasure" and "Expose Me Now." All were produced between 1970 and 1985.
"Bacchanale," from 1970, was billed as the "Ultimate Hard Core Film." Shot by director Lem Amero, it features '70s Golden Age stars Tina Russell and Harry Reems.
"Dear Fanny," from 1985, features Amber Lynn in one of her earliest scenes and Ron Jeremy in an acting and sex role. "'Dear Fanny' is not just one of the best of its day," VCX President David Sutton said. "'Dear Fanny' is a timeless film that all porn fans should have the privilege to view."
1984's "Call Girl" revolves around the life-and-death rivalry between two gangs. Caesar, an ex-lawyer convicted for malpractice, is now a spoiled gigolo thriving in the Paris underworld who kidnaps seductress Marilyn Lamour. Gabrielle Pontello, Mary Andersson and Laura Forsman are also in the cast.
"Double Your Pleasure," from 1978, features identical twins in a production directed by Carter Stevens.
"Expose Me Now," from 1983, features Angel Burgeon, Brooke Bennett, Dana Moore, Danielle, K.C. Valentine, Lynx Canon Ron Jeremy, Don Fernando, Herschel Savage, Paul Thomas and Richard Pacheco in a plot-driven mystery with nine sex scenes.
Sutton personally supervised the transfer process, using 35mm prints as source material.
"The movies we have slated for the Cal-Vista Classic Collection are among the greatest of the Golden Age titles," Sutton said. "They have great sex scenes and high-end production values very rarely seen in today's efforts."
VCX plans to release more than 100 Cal-Vista Classics — starring Amber Lynn, Ron Jeremy, Angel, Gina Carrera, Nina Hartley, Annette Haven, Patti Petite, Erica Boyer and John Holmes, among others — in the coming months.
