Pink Visual Focuses on iPhone to Expand Mobile Services

VAN NUYS, Calif. — With a recent announcement of its expanding mobile services, Pink Visual is, like many adult websites, turning its attention to Apple’s iPhone.

Since launching its first mobile download site, iPinkVisual.com, about a year ago, the company has incorporated four additional mobile sites and plans to add two more “within the next 30 days,” said Q Boyer, marketing manager for Pink Visual and its sister companies.

“We’ve launched a number of mobile sites in the past year, and our focus in terms of mobile devices has definitely been on the iPhone,” Boyer told XBIZ. “It’s a very strong demographic in terms of its crossover potential into the adult market. And the conversion ratio on our mobile traffic is stronger than for general web traffic. This is in part due to the fact that so much of the traffic is coming from search engines, but I think the demographic and customer profile have a lot do to with it, too.”

Pink Visual, along with a number of other companies, praised the potential associated with creating content specifically for the iPhone at the Adult Entertainment Expo last week because “the way people get their porn is changing,” said Kim Kysar, brand and product marketing manager. “It is going to be more personal.”

Boyer also cites the “portability factor” as an advantage for iPhone content.

“It’s not something that people necessarily think about much,” Boyer said, “but when you consider how many adult consumers are married men, and that for a lot of them, watching porn with the wife or even just watching it alone with her knowledge is not an option, the appeal of a self-contained storage and playback device for porn is pretty evident.”

Pink Visual’s recent additions include gay sites iMaleSpectrum.com and iMaleSpectrumPass.com, as well as iPornoPass.com, which offers content licensed by other adult studios, offering users more selection and “even more value for their dollar,” Kysar said.
