Private Media Opens European Gentlemen's Club

BARCELONA – Joining ranks with other adult entertainment companies like Vivid and Larry Flynt’s Hustler Clubs that have ventured into the offline club business, Private Media Group has opened its first gentlemen’s club in Bucharest, Romania.

Considered one of the largest purveyors of adult content in the world, Private Media's opening of the Private Gentlemen’s Club marks its first foray into club-venue branding. The launch of the club also coincides with a three-part strategy Private announced earlier this month that includes the rollout of an online casino and a poker site.

"The entry into the club arena with our licensing program takes the Private brand further into the mainstream lifestyle segment,” Berth Milton, Private's chairman and CEO, said. “Our brand recognition should and will go beyond where it is today, reaching a broad, valuable and growing customer base. This is just one of the many steps I expect us to take in this direction."

The licensing agreement for club space is through international businessman Zyon Ayni, the current owner and operator of the club, Private Media spokesperson Alejandra Moore Mayorga said.

With a January launch date, the 7,000-square-foot club is slated to offer adult entertainment for gentlemen with a capacity of 350.

The club will feature 75 professional dancers nightly, in addition to adult performers known through various other Private Media adult outlets such as DVD, videos, magazines, broadcasting ventures, wireless and broadband.

Along with the multi-year agreement with Ayni, Private will receive a percentage of gross revenues comprised of admissions fees, liquor and food, as well as merchandising.

Representatives for Private also plan to open a second club in Barcelona, where the company is headquartered, and after that, plans have been laid for club openings in France, Germany and England.

The club’s inaugural event is scheduled for Oct. 15. The event will be hosted by former Playboy Playmate and Romanian talk show host Crina Matei.
