Playboy Media President Bob Meyers Resigns

CHIACGO — Playboy President of Media Bob Meyers has resigned his position, effective April 16. Meyers had been named to the newly created position in 2006, with the responsibility of handling global creation and distribution across print, digital and television.

Meyers' resignation comes at a time when Playboy is facing problems. CEO Christie Hefner announced her resignation in December. In February, Chris Petrovic resigned as Playboy's vice president of digital. In January. Playboy closed its New York office and cut roughly 40 jobs.

During a 30-year media career, Meyers spent 19 years at NBC Universal and eight years at Viacom.

The company has not announced plans to name a replacement. Meyers' duties will be assumed by Playboy interim CEO Jerry Kern.
