Adult DVD Empire Introduces “Carnal Corner”

WARRENDALE, Pa. — Adult retail website Adult DVD Empire has launched CarnalCorner.com, an offshoot site offering editorial, contests and commentary on the industry.

“The Carnal Corner gives our viewers a fun way to interact with our site,” said Mike Barry, director of adult operations at Adult DVD Empire. “It's a humorous way to get the low-down on the latest porn valley happenings, new releases and hot starlets.

But Barry points out that while Carnal Corners, accessible directly through its URL or through links on the company’s flagship site, is lighthearted, it does serve a distinct business function: To build long-term relationships with customers and drive repeat sales.

For example, a weekly feature called “Name Those Knockers” challenges users to identify a mystery pair of porn star breasts. Those who do so correctly are entered for a chance to win a free DVD starring the owner of the breasts.

There is also a caption-writing contest in which readers can submit a funny caption to a porn-related picture. The writer of the funniest caption, as voted on by Adult DVD Empire staff, wins an adult prize pack.

There also are poll questions, fun facts and an item called “The Whack Factor,” which puts an adult twist on mainstream movie review systems based on awarding movies a certain number of stars or a thumbs up.

“We plan to add many more interactive features in the future to further enhance the experience,” Barry said.

Carnal Corners is Adult DVD Empire’s latest specialty area. Other recent additions include The Bedroom Advisor, The Pornstar Files and a database of strip clubs from coast to coast.
