Reports: Japan Gets HD Porn Downloads Via Sony PS3

TOKYO — A Japanese company has developed technology that allows its users to stream high-definition porn via Sony’s PlayStation3 gaming console. According to reports, the service will be available only in Japan.

DMM.tv is utilizing BD Live technology to stream adult content to the PS3. Before downloading content, users log in to the DMM.tv Blu-ray website to select the titles which are then remotely accessible on the PS3.

All a user needs is a broadband connection, an HDMI cable and a PS3 to access the technology.

Anime makes up most of the company’s catalog, but there are select Japanese porn titles available, including “Yuma Asami and the 100 Masturbators.”

Adult content is searchable by keywords, actress or genre like most U.S. video-on-demand services. Each title is available “VOD style” with the user paying for each title they download.

The company does not plan to offer this service in Europe or the U.S.
