CalExotics Releases New Kegel Exerciser

CHINO, Calif. — Adult toy developer California Exotic Novelties has released the silicone Eclipse kegel exerciser, the most recent product developed as a response to increased consumer demand for health-focused adult products.

CalExotics Director of Marketing Al Bloom told XBIZ that the company used a focus-group approach to determine the details behind the Eclipse’s shape, size, material and color scheme, and the overwhelming positive response resulted in this nonvibrating addition to the Couture Collection.

“The Couture Collection was originally envisioned as a vibrating category, but when we saw the responses on the balls, together with the overwhelming popularity of the Couture Collection silicone, we decided to combine the two and create Eclipse,” Bloom said. “We handed out several different models of our highly successful Duotone Orgasm balls, and asked questions about the shape, size, colors and material preference. Based on the responses, we knew that a tapered, soft, and hygienic material were the main responses.”

Bloom said the Eclipse is an update and improved evolution of classic Ben Wa balls, designed with a more ergonomic shape to make strengthening the vaginal walls — called the pubococcygeus, or PC, muscles — more comfortable.

The Eclipse was conceived by a female-led team, Bloom added, and features a retrieval cord and a pair of scientifically weighted spheres.

"Daily vaginal exercises are linked to increased orgasmic intensity in women," CalExotics Founder Susan Colvin said. "Eclipse puts a woman's sexual health and satisfaction at the forefront and its discrete size makes it ideal for use at home or anywhere we travel."

Consumers around the country are showing a growing interest in sexual health and wellness, Bloom said, and the company’s sales associates have noted this during their frequent retail outlet visits.

Focusing more on creating health-conscious products that are as beneficial to sexual satisfaction as they are to personal health is a move in the right direction, Bloom said.

“We feel it is an important part of a sexual wellness education, and being at the forefront of so many initiatives shows our willingness to blaze new trails and be willing to back it up with products that deliver,” Bloom said. “[We receive] very positive responses to all of our health and education based product lines, including Anti-Bacterial Toy Cleaners, Toy Covers and all of the great new products constructed with not only silicone, but also TPR and TPE that have most of the wonderful characteristics of pure silicone, at a price point that will reach the masses.”
