AEBN Announces 2010 VOD Awards Nominees

CHARLOTTE — Video-on-demand leader AEBN has announced the nominees for its fifth annual VOD Awards.

Since 2006, the company has awarded the most popular movies and stars of the year based on the viewing habits of its users.

Nominations are based on per-minute sales in AEBN theaters in one calendar year, decided upon by the company’s in-house accounting system. The awards cover a wide range of genres, and include recognitions for the Performer of the Year and Best Newcomer. Special honors are also given for Lifetime Achievement and Studio of the Year.

“The AEBN VOD Awards are always greeted with excitement around the office,'' AEBN's Suzann Knudsen said. “As these nominees are picked by the online view counts over the past 12 months, we usually have a general idea of who we might see, but we always have a couple of unexpected titles that have been just slow and steady all year long.”

VODAwards.com has been redesigned to better feature the nominees. Clips from the nominated movies are available on the VOD Awards channel on PornoTube.com.

“Awards, such as the VOD Awards, which are based on consumer spending is even more important in a year like this," Knudsen said. "With all the economic uncertainty we've experienced this year, people are only spending on what they really love, and that's what you'll see in the nominees. That's invaluable knowledge going into 2010."
