Dickmans Design Co-founder to Appear on ‘Big Brother Brasil’

SAO PAULO, Brazil — Mike Dickman, co-founder of high-end design company Dickmans Design, will begin his stint in the “Big Brother Brasil” house on Tuesday.

Dickmans Design CEO Bruno Dickman told XBIZ that Mike Dickman submitted a video as part of the process to appear on the upcoming 10th installment of “Big Brother Brasil.” He was selected out of 200,000 submissions.

He said it was Mike Dickman’s dual personality that landed him on the wildly popular show, which draws in viewers by the millions.

“He’s very charismatic and conservative. He’s Jewish, he has a girlfriend and he’s very family-orientated,” he said, “but at the same time he works with porn.”

As part of the show, Mike Dickman will be seen nightly on Brazilian network T.V. station Globo, in addition to round-the-clock coverage available on Globo’s pay-per-view channel.

Mike Dickman will reside in the “Big Brother” house, located in Rio de Janerio, with 13 housemates in isolation from the rest of the world. Their only outside contact will be the show’s host, Pedro Bial.

“The host speaks to the housemates on air,” Bruno Dickman said. “We’re hoping he’s still there on Feb. 10 and the host can tell Mike the result of our XBIZ Award nomination [for Design Studio of the Year].”

By winning weekly physical and intellectual contests, the "Big Brother" housemates avoid being nominated for eviction. Otherwise, fan voting determines who remains.

Bruno Dickman said he hopes his business partner goes the entire three months of the show and takes home the $1 million grand prize.

The latest version of DickmansDesign.com launches Tuesday, to coincide with the premiere of “Big Brother Brasil 10.” DickmansDesign.com V5 will reflect the company’s growth and expanded offerings to its clients, which includes both adult and mainstream companies.

Bruno and Mike Dickman met in college while majoring in advertising. They became business partners in 2001 when they founded Dickmans Design.

According to Bruno Dickman, it was the company’s work with SilverCash that helped launch the company and it snowballed from there.

Dickmans Design has won three XBIZ Awards for Design Studio of the Year and is nominated in the same category for the 2010 XBIZ Awards set for Feb. 10 at the Avalon Hollywood.
