Apple has a no-porn-allowed policy, but forChan managed to beat the Cupertino, Calif., company’s rigid approval system — at least for a day.
On Tuesday, Apple deleted the 99-cent app from its lineup. The app specializes in viewing image boards on the web and comes preloaded with images of "nude" dogs, but with a few adjustments one can customize the app to view nude women.
Other apps introduced to the iPhone that included porn — Beauty Meter and Hottest Girls — also have vanished.
Apple’s Steve Jobs has that he won’t allow the company to distribute “porn, malicious apps, apps that invade your privacy.”
forChan’s developer was unable to be reached Wednesday, but the company’s site thanked its supporters.
“I have received literally hundreds upon hundreds of e-mails from people showing support. At this time I have no words other then sit tight.”
