According to the WindsorStar, producer Anne-Marie Losique says the content on the Vanessa channel will be much more than just porn movies.
The French-language adult subscription channel is launching in Quebec in October, with an English-language counterpart promised for the rest of Canada in late 2011.
“There’s nothing shameful about Vanessa,” Losique said. “It’s going to be a general-interest TV with a sexy twist.”
She noted the channel will offer some hardcore material, but stressed that overall, it’s going to be soft, like the Canadian answer to the Playboy Channel.
Losique said X-rated movies will represent less than 10 percent of the programming aimed mostly at couples.
The channel will offer a range of erotic-themed dramas, reality shows, documentaries, variety and magazine shows.
