The new packaging elements include a new type of jewel case and a richer, holographic foil on the box cover inserts.
All future Doghouse projects will be released in clear jewel cases. Noting that the majority of DVDs in both mainstream and adult entertainment use a black jewel case, Doghouse Digital general manager Jon B says, “A clear jewel case will stand out on shelves, making it more likely that a consumer will pick the movie up to check it out.”
Doghouse has been one of the largest distributors in Canada for nearly two decades, and Jon says every element of the company’s packaging has been thought out and tested in the market.
“Our marketing research has shown that consumers respond enormously well to clear jewel cases,” Jon adds. “It looks classy and can help raise a consumer’s estimation of the quality of a movie.”
The first title to feature the new packaging is “Swallow My Rod and Share the Wad 2,” released in December.
