Blu Cigs Affiliate Program Records 150,000 Sales

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After launching in May 2009, more than 150,000 Blu Cigs electronic smoking device kits have been sold exclusively through the Blu Cigs affiliate program.

Blu Cigs’ Jason Healy told XBIZ that the affiliate program currently is attracting between 60 and 70 new affiliates per day.

“Especially during the two to three months,” Healy said. “The response has been great and product recognition continues to grow.”

He said he attributes the product’s successful to its universal appeal and the 30 million-plus U.S. smokers.

Affiliate.BluCigs.com is the online home of the Blu Cigs affiliate program, listing the program’s offerings as $15 pay-per-sale on Starter Kit sales and $2 on cartridge carton sales.

“Conversions are on the rise,” Healy said. “We’re getting more websites, more traffic.”

Affiliate sales tools include page peel ads and videos, among others, that are designed with a focus on lifestyle branding. Healy said that all the tools are tested.

“This allows our affiliates to focus on getting traffic and sales rather than worrying about the effectiveness of the ads,” he said.

Healy said that while Blu Cigs is intended for all audiences, it welcomes adult traffic, offering them an opportunity for mainstream success. Moreover, he said conversions originating from adult sites are “not just good, but better” than mainstream.

Last year Blu Cigs came on the scene as a product that uses flavored water vapor to give the illusion of smoking real cigarette. The e-cigarettes contain an atomizer that delivers water vapor, with flavor and the desired level of nicotine, should the user want it, through a replaceable cartridge.

The starter kit, which retails for $59.95 at BluCigs.com, contains two batteries, a charger, and 25 flavor cartridges. Flavors include vanilla, coffee, menthol and classic tobacco.
