Private Inks Exclusive Scandinavian VOD Deal With Voddler

BARCELONA — Private Media Group, Inc. announced today the signing of a multi-year agreement for the exclusive supply of adult content to Scandinavian VOD provider Voddler Group AB.

Private said the agreement will increase its VOD exposure and positioning and significantly improve its VOD revenue by leveraging Voddler’s distribution platform with both free ad-based and pay-per-view solutions.

The deal gives Voddler access to both new releases and Private’s movie library that the company said features hundreds of classic titles.

Private also said that the agreement includes Voddler's extended content filter function that helps customers manage content consumption.

The filter function lets individuals limit their exposure to specific titles and lets families share a login between members of varying ages.

The Scandinavian company services more than 750,000 registered users and has open access open access in Sweden and Norway, and on invite only-basis in Finland and Denmark, according to the company.

Private said that in 2010 over four million titles have been watched using the Voddler player and the company's catalog of titles has grown to more than 2,500 titles featuring content from all major global media.

Private CEO Berth Milton said, “Combining Voddler’s innovative platform and expansive and rapidly growing distribution network with Private’s strong brand and high-quality content, we expect this new online offer in Scandinavia to become a winner. The Voddler service represents the future of television and we believe this agreement will generate substantial profit going forward.”
