The company is digitally remastering 16- and 35-mm film and video masters for its “Adult Movie Classics” and “The Best of Old School Porn” series, as well as taping interviews with stars, directors and others involved with the industry during the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, including Paul Thomas, Ron Jeremy, Jon Leslie and Ginger Lynn.
“This will be the first time these movies are available on DVD, and we wanted to do something special with them,” veteran adult star Rebecca Bardoux, who is producing the series and hosting the interview portions of the DVDs, told XBiz. “I have tremendous respect for this industry, and I think it’s time that someone created a history of adult entertainment.”
While Allure produced 60 of the feature films scheduled for release in their entirety on the “Classics” series, the company also has purchased more than 1,000 titles from other companies during the past 20 years and produced an addition 600 movies, giving it a huge library of scenes to draw from for its “Best of” series.
But Allure owner Ziggy Stace told XBiz that he plans to release only 4-6 titles per month, so that the company can be selective about the content that actually makes it onto the DVDs.
“The production values were extremely high during that era,” Stace said. “There were stories and acting, sets and wardrobes, pyrotechnics and helicopters. But the industry has even more fans today, and most of them have never seen these movies or know about the history of that period. There’s a huge audience, and we want to show them how it was done and how the industry progressed over the years.”
