“I am really looking forward to doing 'Nightmare,' I spent most of my youth watching those movies," Chibbles said. “I don’t want to do any computer-generated stuff I want to use real special effects. In fact I’m looking to possibly secure the original boiler room for the film."
Production will begin in early 2011.
Blue Circus will hold a casting call for several of the characters, including two of the lead roles, in the coming weeks.
Chibbles remarked, “I am really looking for people who know the 'Nightmare on Elm Street' movies, so please if you’re not familiar with the movies do your homework."
He said his version would be more like the original, darker "Nightmare on Elm Street" than the more campy sequels.
Special effects artist Eric Fox of MORB-X added, “We are honored to work once again with Dick and Blue Circus Entertainment. Even Freddy Krueger will be having wet dreams waiting for this one. There will indeed be some serious sets and effects in this movie."
