Brittany Andrews' Mainstream Films Win Multiple Awards

LOS ANGELES — Adult star Brittany Andrews’ Britco Pictures announced today that two of its mainstream film projects have won awards at the recent Los Angeles International Independent Film Festival.

“Trick of the Witch,” a campy supernatural thriller about fashion models fighting an evil witchcraft curse and “Crumble,” a gritty art house short film set in Manhattan’s seedy underbelly and starring Steven Bauer of “Scarface” and “Traffic” took home honors.

Andrews’ “Trick of the Witch” won Best Horror Film and the Audience Award for a Feature Film.

The studio also announced that “Trick of the Witch” will begin a limited theatrical run in Los Angeles on Mar. 4 at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatres as part of its Friday and Saturday midnight shows. The film will expand to the Vine Theater in Hollywood on Mar. 11.

“’Trick of the Witch’ is such a fun cult film so I’m looking forward to sharing this little gem with everyone. It’s definitely a popcorn movie you need to see with a rowdy crowd,” Andrews said.

The trailer for the film can be seen here.

“Crumble’s” Steven Bauer won for Best Actor in a Short Film and Oksana Lada nabbed the Best Actress in a Short Film trophy.

Best Directorial Debut went to Renata Bialkowska for “Crumble” and Keith Patchel won Best Composer.

“I’m extremely proud and honored to have things come full circle with these films as we all worked very hard on them,” Andrews said.

She added, “This is actually the second time ‘Crumble’ won awards and to have both films win the prestigious Audience Award is amazing as this award comes directly from the heart of the fans.”

The company said that “Crumble” is gearing up for screenings and promotion at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in France, followed by an additional screening this spring at the New York International Film Festival where the awards will be presented at a red carpet event.

The trailer for “Crumble' can be seen here.

Andrews will also have a screening showcase night during the New York festival. Films currently scheduled include: “Blindfold,” (a short dealing with a father and daughter relationship amongst the aftermath of 911), “My Real Porn Life” (a web reality series tracking Andrews’ comeback into the adult industry), “These Showers Can Talk” (a lesbian slice of life comedy short) and a reality pilot called “True Cougar Life” that follows New York cougars dating younger men.

In addition to her film projects, Andrews said she has been chosen to be a juror on the upcoming IFQ Film Festival that will be held in Los Angeles at Raleigh Studios on Feb. 24.

Andrews also noted that she had several TV projects pitched and promoted at the recent NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives) conference held Jan. 24-26 in Miami.

“My Real Porn Life” and “True Cougar Life” were showcased along with two new series: “The Fabulous Sex Lives Of...” and “Pimp My Bride.”
