LOS ANGELES — Director Dick Chibbles has completed his most recent horror porn parody, "The Blair Witch Project: A Triple X Thriller."
Chibbles' last movie, "SAW: A Hardcore Parody," earned several 2011 XBIZ award nominations and also received a public nod from the creator of the mainstream movie franchise. So the owner of Blue Circus Entertainment decided to stick to the horror genre.
“For a movie that had such a huge impact on America in the 90’s, I couldn’t resist,” Chibbles said. “We spent hours making the stickmen, enjoying the outdoors and camping with good friends. Of course the production of 'The Blair Witch' parody was loads of fun to shoot."
Chibbles shot the movie documentary style in the mountains of San Diego with a porn twist. It follows a group that gets together to do a documentary about the legend of the Blair witch (and to shoot content). They start off interviewing the residents of a sleepy small town before making their way into the haunted woods, shooting scenes for their websites along the way. Before long they get lost, causing the documentary to unravel as fast as their nerves when they realize they're being hunted by an unseen entity.
According to Chibbles and co-writer Jack Vegas, “We’re all friends and thought to go camping together to shoot some content-trade scenes. Instead we figured let’s just make a movie and split it. We decided do things a little differently on this one. Everyone took a lot of pride in knowing that this is something that everyone involved with have an equal ownership in."
Performer Britney Amber plays the central character “Heather," who leads the documentary crew.
“I had such a great time filming this," Amber said. "We’re all good friends that went out to have fun camping and that resulted in making a great movie. And for all of us being producers with a split share of the film, it pushed us all to give 110 percent. I even got to try out my camera skills which was a lot of fun.”
Performer Brandy Aniston added, “Being not only an actress but spreading my resume to co-producer and directing a little was an amazing experience. To have the creative freedom and have input into the final product was very special."
Aniston continued, "A lot of what you’ll see in the film is real. Being in the middle of the woods in a tent in the pitch black darkness is scary. My screams are very much real."
Chibbles said the movie was entirely "written, produced, directed and edited by porn stars." It will be released through Pulse Distribution this spring.
