Director Sam Hain Tapped to Helm Wicked Sci-fi Film

LOS ANGELES —  Filmmaker Sam Hain has been tapped to direct Wicked Pictures’ big-budget, sci-fi movie “Horizon.”

The 2011 XBIZ Feature Studio of the Year said the “interstellar adventure” will leap into the year 2085 where extraterrestrials invade the earth as humans take a last stand against the aliens in an effort to reach the space cruiser Horizon.

The movie stars Wicked Girls Stormy Daniels, Jessica Drake, Kaylani Lei and Alektra Blue along with a feature cast including Kimberly Kane, Misty Stone, Rocco Reed, Bill Bailey, Natasha Nice, Tony Desergio, Danny Mountain and others.

Director Hain said he couldn't be more thrilled with the cast and he looks forward to the challenge of photographing them with cutting-edge technology.

"We'll be shooting the entire movie with the new Red Epic camera, the same camera being used on Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' and Peter Jackson's ‘The Hobbit.’ But because of the lengthy post-production schedules of those two films, we expect to be the first movie of this kind, in either mainstream or adult, to be released," Hain said.

To create the movie's special effects sequences, Wicked said Hain and his crew will be augmenting the use of computer-generated effects with large scale modeling work, a technique that's recently come back into vogue thanks to the efforts of sci-fi auteur Duncan Jones (‘Moon,’ ‘Source Code’).

Hain said he plans on creating something unique to both the adult and science fiction genres. "I believe that, as a team, we can create the first true crossover film. We plan to deliver something so dynamic and realistic that, should you remove the hardcore scenes, it would still hold its own against anything the mainstream has to offer."

The film is scheduled to begin shooting for the next two weeks on locations in and around Los Angeles.

Special press days have been set up for May 1, 2 and 7. To arrange a visit contact Hethalein Mares at heth@wickedpictures.com or call (818) 349-3593.
