COLT Studio Group Becomes ASACP Title Sponsor

LOS ANGELES — COLT Studio Group has joined the likes of HotMovies.com and TCG.com as a new title sponsor of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection.

COLT President John Rutherford told XBiz that his company was prompted to come on-board as a title sponsor due to the work of ASACP Director Joan Irvine and her staff.

“COLT Studio Group is very proud to financially support ASACP,” Rutherford said. “The COLT Studio Group admires the tireless efforts of Joan Irvine and the staff at ASACP in their mission and [we] wanted to demonstrate this support by becoming a corporate sponsor.

COLT Studio Group, which has produced all-male erotica content for about 40 years, is based in San Francisco and produces and distributes movies and other products under seven brands worldwide, including COLT Studio, Buckshot Productions, COLT’s Minute Man Solo Series, COLT Gear and Buckshot Toys, COLT and Buckshot Magazines, COLT Leather and COLT Basics apparel.

”COLT has been around a long time and our reputation speaks for itself,” Rutherford added. “Because we produce products for adults, it’s only natural that we support the ASACP and its mission of child protection.”

Irvine told XBiz that the organization is happy to welcome COLT aboard. COLT Studio Group also becomes the first gay title sponsor of ASACP, though a few other companies that target the gay niche are on-board with the organization as corporate sponsors. Title sponsors donate at least $10,000 to ASACP. The organization currently only has about a dozen title sponsors.

“The engine behind all of our growth and success during the past decade has been the involvement of companies like COLT Studio Group, whose great success is matched by a strong sense of responsibility,” Irvine said.

ASACP is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 that’s dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet.

“Working with organizations such as ASACP helps the continuing evolution of COLT Studio Group,” Rutherford told XBiz. “Shared experiences and continued reciprocal education will go a long way in helping to defeat the fear that exists in the perceptions of the adult industry.”
