CalExotics Holds Power Sales Webinar

CHINO, Calif. — The morning edition of CalExotics’ Power Sales webinar welcomed retailers of all forms and served up expert marketing tips to benefit brick-and-mortars, home party planners and online retailers.

Presented by the CalExotics marketing and public relations department: Al Bloom, director of marketing; Desiree Duffie, director of public relations; and Nichole Grossmann, social media coordinator, the Power Sales Webinar had more than 30 attendees within the first five minutes of the morning edition and was centered around becoming a “Super Hero at Work.”

The slide show presentation featured verbal discussion and tips from the CalExotics team and encouraged feedback from viewers via a chat and voice communication functions. Intermittent “Quickpoll” questions also encouraged viewer participation.

Right from the get-go, Duffie explained the motive behind providing marketing support to retailers.

“As a manufacturer, we support our products all the way down the line,” she said. “CalExotics has a vested interested — the more tools that are available, the more everyone benefits.”

The Power Sales seminar is peppered with comparisons to mainstream, including creating effective in-store displays and employing plan-o-grams to organize walls that deliver bold impact and encourage upsells.

CalExotics’ 26 plan-o-grams can be downloaded from CalExotics.com, where the company also stores its QR codes.

Today’s webinar introduced attendees to QR codes available from CalExotics that aren’t brand-specific, but serve retailers by providing overviews for specific categories of toys. The educational videos are hosted by Ryan Browning-Cassaday and Dr. Jessica Cassaday and offer information that a curious shopper may like to know but is too shy to ask.

According to Duffie, QR codes serve to reach the up and coming generation. “Younger, more tech saavy people are the ones you want to reach,” she said. “They are also more receptive to sexual health information.”

In addition to category QR codes, CalExotics offers QR code stickers for 819 of its products that can be affixed to their packaging.

All of CalExotics’ videos are features on CalExotics.tv, where online retailers can find embed codes to features them on their sites.

For traditional brick-and-mortar retailers, CalExotics’ Al Bloom discussed retail store signage and the company’s most successful counter-top displays that grab shoppers’ attention, don’t take up a lot of space and are priced to sell — fundamentals for merchandising a small section.

CalExotics also addressed the home party reps with advice on how to extend their reach through and how online retailers could do the same by creating content-rich websites that educate consumers to put them at ease while purchasing adult products.

CalExotics’ Power Sales seminar returns with afternoon edition today at 2 p.m., and a recorded version will be available in about a week.
