LOS ANGELES — Director Sam Hain’s new sci-fi epic "Horizon" will screen at the Carsey-Wolf Center’s Pollock Theater on the campus of the University of California at Santa Barbara at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The Wicked Pictures release will be shown as an official Department of Film and Media Studies event, which is part of Professor Constance Penley's "Topics in Film Genre: Pornographic Film" series.
After the screening, Hain will be joined onstage by stars Jessica Drake, Kaylani Lei, Alektra Blue and Kimberly Kane, as well as producer Lee Roy Myers for an exclusive Q&A session with the audience.
A reception with students, faculty and the stars will follow.
A noted film professor and porn-studies pioneer, Professor Penley’s forward-thinking, sex-positive work has been profiled in such publications as Rolling Stone and TIME. Dubbed “one of the eight most dangerous minds in America” by Rolling Stone, Penley has also graced the SyFy Channel, providing illuminating commentary for the network’s remastered screenings of "Star Trek: The Original Series."
Hain remarked, “It's an honor to be invited to UCSB to show 'Horizon.' It means a lot to all of us that a university of this stature was so impressed with our film that they've asked us to share it with their student body. I'm anxious to speak with the students after the screening!”
The movie originally premiered on the big screen on Sept. 21 at the Landmark Theatre in West L.A. Click here for the story.
