LOS ANGELES — Since Monday, 996 unnamed John Doe defendants have been linked to 23 porn BitTorrent copyright infringement suits filed around the country.
It was a particularly busy week in porn BitTorrent filings, with suits waged by adult studios Elegant Angel, Digital Sin, K-Beech, Evasive Angles Entertainment and Digital Sin.
All of the suits seek court-ordered disclosure of the Does' identities through their ISPs
Among the actions:
- Digital Sin filed three suits in Florida, targeting 208 in one suit over infringement relative to "My Little Panties #2," and two others aiming at 167 and 145 Does;
- Elegant Angel seeks recourse in four suits in Florida, targeting 85, 115, 87 and 77 Does;
- K-Beech filed 15 cases against single defendants in Pennsylvania, who were previously named and then pared in earlier mass filings; and,
- Evasive Angles filed one suit in Florida against 97.
