Vespoli Moves Behind the Camera for Digital Sin

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Digital Sin has added adult performer Dana Vespoli as its newest director. Her first title under the agreement, “Cock Starved,” is scheduled for release May 18.

Vespoli, a self-described “ridiculously libidinous person,” has worked in front of the camera for just about every production company in the San Fernando Valley, including Evil Angel, Kick Ass, Video Team, Platinum X, Simon Wolf, Wicked, Anabolic, Zero Tolerance and Hustler.

While she says she loves performing, she adds that she is a voyeur who got into the business with the intent to eventually shoot it as a way to bring her own sexual fantasies to life. This will be her first time directing. According to Vespoli, the movies she makes for Digital Sin will not be standard point-and-shoot gonzo.

“I love shooting stuff that is very psychosexual,” Vespoli explains. “I like to incorporate jealousy themes or scenes of intense longing and desire. Basically some of the things that infiltrate my fantasy life and that I find most erotic.”

One of the ways Vespoli captures that feeling on camera is through scene build up, with plenty of tease preceding the sex. Digital Sin President Scott Taylor said her work provides an aesthetic he hasn’t seen before.

“Dana has a vision like no other director we have ever had,” Taylor said. “She brings an intensity to her movies that I feel is very fresh and exciting. As an example, her POV scene with Manuel Ferarra is simply incredible."

Vespoli added that her movies are not for every performer. Rather, she carefully selects performers to ensure they can convey her vision on film.

“They need to look the part as well as act the part,” she says. “I don't care for a tattooed virgin. It ruins the fantasy for me.”
