ATLANTA — As EdenFantasys begins its 10th year, the online retailer reflects on the changes and achievements of 2011.
“Our goal is to make EdenFantasys a wonderful online place to play, work, shop and socialize," said Fred Petrenko, EdenFantasys’ founder and president.
EdenFantasys.com started off 2011 with big changes behind the scenes. In February, the company relocated operations to Atlanta as part of their merger with adult product manufacturer Liberator.
While the company later split from Liberator, EdenFantasys said it will maintain its base of operations in Atlanta for 2012.
"We love the new view of the Atlanta skyline, and EdenFantasys will continue to develop projects at full speed ahead," Petrenko said.
The EdenReview program reached 50,000reviews in the first week of December. In addition to being an online retailer, EdenFantasys offers users immediate access to first-hand testimonials and product information. Additionally, EdenClassifieds, a free buy/sell listing service, launched during the fourth quarter, and EdenTube, EdenFantasys’s own video-sharing database, had more than 3,000 uploaded videos by year’s end, many of which consisted on video reviews uploaded by the community itself.
According to EdenFantasys social media manager CarrieAnn, the company operates six Twitter and Facebook channels representing all facets of the EdenFantasys brand, which have helped spread awareness for good causes such as Save the Tatas foundation and AIDS Service Center NYC.
EdenFantasys also offers Sexis Magazine, which in 2011 featured columnists The Bloggess, Nina Hartley and Rachel Kramer Bussel, who featured two essays from Sexis Magazine in her anthology, “Best Sex Writing 2012 — The State of Today's Sexual Culture (Cleis Press 2012).” Sexis editor Laurel Bartlett said that 2012 will reveal new columnists, new perspectives and more industry-wide influence.
On the mainstream front, EdenFantasys is expanding to include features in Women’s Health, Cosmopolitan Magazine, and iVillage, and is moving forward with books and work with mom bloggers, including once again sponsoring BlogHer, the largest social media conference for women. In 2011, EdenFantasys said it had one of the most popular booths at the seminal women's conference, proving that adult toys have solidified their influence with one of the most coveted demographics.
“While 2011 was a major win for EdenFantasys, the team is ready to take on 2012,” the company said. “New features to look out for in the coming year include a revamping of Eden mobile services, and even more personalization of the shopping experience. Play, work, shop and socialize will take on a whole new meaning in the 2012 for EdenFantasys.com.”
