Good Vibrations Celebrates National Condom Week

SAN FRANCISCO — Good Vibrations is celebrating National Condom Week by offering 15 percent off all condoms from Feb.12 -Feb 19 at all of its retail locations.

“Just in time for Valentine’s Day, celebrate safer sexy and find more romantic gifts for every taste and budget,” the company said.

What began on a University of California Berkeley campus in 1978 has grown into a national week of awareness-raising, celebrated by students, activists groups, condom manufacturers and retailers alike.

The company said that the effort to normalize the use of condoms has been successful, but there is still a long way to go. With six retail stores on two coasts, including the new Oakland location, Good Vibrations is spreading the message.

“Sexual health and wellness is the cornerstone of Good Vibrations, and we are pleased to offer this promotion and celebrate National Condom Week and the philosophy of safe sex,” Good Vibrations COO Jackie Strano said.

Condom manufacturer Sir Richards is donating one condom for each one sold in the U.S. to a developing country.

During National Condom Week , it will donate thousands of condoms to Haiti through a social media contest on Facebook.
