AUBURN, Wash. — For the third consecutive year, Peekay is partnering with Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties to promote National Condom Week.
This year National Condom Week takes place from Feb. 14-21.
In support of Planned Parenthood's efforts to raise awareness of safe sex practices, Peekay says it will donate five cents to Planned Parenthood for every condom sold during the week. Donations from Peekay's Lovers stores in Washington will be made to Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest, and donations from Peekay's A Touch of Romance and ConRev stores in California will be made to Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties.
"Planned Parenthood is a wonderful organization, and we're happy to continue our partnership to promote sexual health and wellness," said Phyllis Heppenstall, Peekay's founder/COB. "We are always searching for ways to support the important work they are doing on behalf of women and women's health."
Stephanie Kight, senior vice president at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties added,"At Planned Parenthood, we believe that prevention is the best medicine. Condoms remain one of the most accessible and inexpensive way to prevent pregnancy and the most effective way to prevent STDs. This partnership with Peekay provides a way to highlight the importance of preventive health and the importance that condoms play in helping people stay healthy."
Last year Peekay donated more than $2,000 to Planned Parenthood during National Condom Week. The company said it hopes to exceed last year's donation amount by at least 10 percent.
