LOS ANGELES — Dakota Cochrane is one of 32 lightweight fighters competing in the March 9 season premiere of FX's new reality competition series "Ultimate Fighter Live." He also is Danny, a performer on the popular gay porn paysite SeanCody.com.
Mixed Martial Arts site MiddleEasy.com outted Cochrane to MMA fans on Monday, but the news had originally been broken last fall on TomBucchusOnTheVine.com.
Cochrane earned his spot on UFC and FX's revamped "Ultimate Fighter Live" after defeating World Extreme Cagefighting champ Jamie Varner at last year's Titan Fighting Championship 20. The 25-year-old Nebraska native holds an 11-2 pro MMA record.
UFC President Dana White spoke to the issue of gay men competing in UFC last October when famed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira upset the gay community by stating that he would not train with gay fighters.
Said White, "If there was a gay fighter in UFC, I wish he would come out. I could care less if there's a gay fighter in the UFC. There probably is and there's probably more than one. I mean, it's 2012. Give me a break."
