LAS VEGAS — The Home Pleasure Party Plan Association will kick off its presence at the International Lingerie Show Sunday, March 25 with a fifth-year anniversary celebration for its Home Party Review magazine sponsored by Wet.
HPPPA President Tamara Bell told XBIZ that the quarterly Home Party Review publication was launched five years ago to serve as an educational tool specifically for the home party sector.
“The magazine has blossomed into something that people look forward to every quarter,” Bell said. “I get emails from people asking when it’s coming out, and putting it together still excites me.”
Home Party Review magazine features profiles on industry leaders and notable home party professionals, which allows them to stand out within a sector of the adult retail business that’s often ignored, Bell said.
“We know that we’re little in size but we’re significant,” Bell said. “We try to show the industry that we’re bigger than we seem. As an organization we try to stand at the forefront to give a voice to the home party sector.”
Next week, HPPPA also will host a Manufacturer’s Forum event exclusively for its members to gain in-depth knowledge of the products that they’re selling directly from the manufacturers themselves. According to Bell, the latest installment of Manufacturer’s Forum will feature a mock home party scenario so that the manufacturers also gain insight into the inner workings of a home party organizing.
“When it comes to product education, we either have to learn by the packaging or seek out information some other way,” Bell said. “With this Manufacturer’s Forum, we want to show them the importance of educating retailers to sell their products correctly.”
Throughout ILS, HPPPA also will be raising funds to benefit an AIDS awareness charity.
Established in 2005, HPPPA offers members research services, informational services, discounts on professional training and legal services, networking councils and a quarterly magazine.
