“Our goal is to keep the Extreme name alive in anything we do,” Extreme’s owner Rob Black told XBIZ. “We put our balls to the wall on this project and kept true to what got us to the dance in the first place — extreme content. We’re offering the meat here. These aren’t trailers like most companies are releasing.”
All the scenes in its “Piss Zone Portable” section are pre-encoded for easy download. Like the name suggests, the offerings feature pissing scenes culled from the Extreme archives combined with new footage. Extreme plans to release new content from other hardcore niches in the coming weeks.
As Black told XBIZ, creating a direct distribution channel with the consumer makes it easier for them to view extreme content because it bypasses the distributors who are wary to carry his titles.
“I think this will create a Pandora’s Box legally,” Black said. “What does the government do with ‘questionable’ content on a personal media player? What if you have a bunch of pissing scenes or cumshot scenes and you go to Utah? Can they arrest you for obscenity even though this content is for individual viewing only?”
In 2004 Black, his wife Janet Romano, aka Lizzy Borden and Extreme Associates were prosecuted for distributing obscene materials through the mail. The U.S. District court, ruling that Federal anti-obscenity statutes are unconstitutional, dismissed the charges. The Department of Justice appealed the ruling to the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals that in turn, ruled the lower court had erred in bypassing federal obscenity statutes. The charges against Black, his wife and company were reinstated.
