MUMBAI — Adult star Sunny Leone is set to star in a sequel to director Pawan Kripalani's supernatural thriller "Ragini MMS." The casting comes on the heels of Leone's Bollywood debut "Jism 2," currently shooting in Thailand.
"Ragini MMS 2" continues to detail the "true" story of a New Delhi girl tormented by the ghost of an evil witch while on holiday with her boyfriend and friends at a cabin in the woods. Balaji Motion Pictures will distribute the Ekta Kapoor production.
"I watched it and I was scared through the first movie," Leone tweeted over the weekend, shortly after Balaji Motion Pictures CEO Tanuj Garg announced on his Twitter feed, "We've signed the sexy SunnyLeone for 'Ragini MMS 2.' Lunched with her recently and thought she was remarkably rooted & warm!"
Leone is the first to be cast in the sequel, which is slated to begin production later this year with an anticipated 2013 release date. Kripalani, who made his directorial debut with the 2011 original, is expected to be back at the helm.
