Adam & Eve Expands Franchising to California

LOS ANGELES — Founded in 1970 as America’s first adult-oriented mail-order catalog, Adam & Eve, now one of the industry’s leading retailers, is seeking to expand its franchise base into California. Entrepreneurs will now be able to own and manage a retail store under the Adam & Eve brand.

“After numerous requests, we are pleased to provide Adam & Eve franchising opportunities in California,” Bob Christian, president of Adam & Eve Franchise Corp. said. “Over the past six years, we have created Adam & Eve stores in North Carolina; in Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Winston-Salem and Greensboro. We’ve also sold franchises in North Carolina, Florida and Massachusetts.”

Qualified franchisees can purchase single or multiple store developments.

“We have learned what works – what the public wants out of a romance-enhancement retail store. And now we are bringing that information to California.”

Adam & Eve’s retail management team will assist the franchisees with tools they need to run a successful adult business its website says. They include determining store location, legal issues, so that local zoning laws and ordinances are adhered to, and assisting with store layout and design.

Additionally, the North Carolina-based Adam & Eve training staff will educate the owner and employees about the different types of products in the store’s inventory. In-store talent appearances also will be scheduled.

“Adam & Eve is here for franchisees every step of the way,” Marcus Goswick, Adam & Eve’s operations manager said. “Our goal is to bring the history and experience of 36 years as America’s top adult catalog company to every town in the U.S.”

In addition to its retail stores Adam & Eve continues to operate its mail-order business and maintains a strong online retail presence.
