LOS ANGELES — Ricks Cabaret is coming to Los Angeles.
The nationwide adult club operator has entered into a joint venture with adult night club owner Jerry Westlund for a new topless nightclub somewhere in Los Angeles County.
Execs at Ricks Cabaret won't say where the club will be located in the county, but they disclosed it will a medium-sized club with 12,000 square feet.
Currently under construction, the club will be open in September or October.
The entrance into the Los Angeles market is a first for Rick's, which also will mark the first time the club has entered the California space as well. Rick's has 24 adult clubs in the U.S.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Jerry Westlund, who is one of the top adult club operators,” said Eric Langan, president and CEO of Rick’s Cabaret. “This venture lets us enter the California market with one of its most experienced players and it is consistent with our previously announced plan to partner with multi-club operators.”
Westlund, who operates 19 clubs under the brands The Fantasy Showclubs and The Pony, said in a statement, “It is an exciting opportunity to raise the bar for gentlemen’s club entertainment in Southern California."
The 50-50 joint venture includes a long-term lease for the property where the club is located, with an option to purchase it at a later date.
