For Steele, the decision to do an all-black POV line was a natural extension of his interracial POV line, “Pole Position.”
“Nightstick: Black POV’ will set the standard for the ethnic triple-X POV market and is the first series of its kind," Steele said. "I've always made it a point to produce my ethnic titles to set the standard in the industry and even surpass the budgets of other, nonethnic titles.”
According to Steele, there is a void in the marketplace for good ethnic titles, and he believes that “Nightstick: Black POV” will continue to raise the bar for ethnic titles.
"As anyone who's seen black ethnic product knows, it's often shortchanged when it comes to production," Steele said. "However, ‘Nightstick: Black POV’ will be in good company with Mercenary's other ethnic titles.”
Mercenary Pictures also produces ethnic titles “Black Reign” and “Black Moon Risin.’”
The inaugural film in the new line stars Alexis Silver, Angel Eyes, Ayana Angel, Jazmyne Cashmere, Vixen and Steele, who also directed.
